The 300Tdi and 200Tdi is every 24,000 miles (40,000km) or 2 years, whichever comes first, according to the Haynes manual. I guess the Td5 will be similar

Hi Pete,

The gearbox oil should be changed every 24k miles as per the service sheet. Send me your e-mail address by PM and I'll mail it across.

The recomended oil to use from RAVE is:

Gearbox oil
Use of gearbox oils other than those specified may
result in serious damage to the gearbox,
Manual Gearbox
Use Texaco MTF 94 oil for refill and topping-up. If
MTF 94 is not available, ATF Dexron IID or ATF
Dexron III may be used.

Also you will need a Torx 55 bit to undo the oil filler/level plug, make sure you can undo this before letting all the oil out!!!!!!!! The drain plug is 1 1/4 inch. They can be very tight, and you'll need a strong arm. If you need any digrams showing where the various filler and drains are for the gearbox and the transfer box, let me know!!

Cheers,

James
