central locking

My central locking (3dr freelander) is only unlocking the driver's door. :|

to unlock the passenger and rear door, I have to press the unlock button a second time.

Has anybody else suffered this? and ideas how I can solve it?

This the behaviour by design

It is an anti car-jacking feature which prevents someone opening the passenger door when you unlock the vehicle using the plip.

The idea is that it prevents someone getting in and threatening you and or nicking the car when you are alone.

Is it possible to switch it off?

errrr...dunno i'd 'guess' it can be reprogrammed, but why would you want it switched off?

An LR dealer can turn that off for you if you ask them to, I guess 1/2 hour labour would be the likely charge .. they may do it for free if you bought it from them recently.

I prefer it that way though, personally.
