hi,
for an age now i've been trying to track down a copy of the above without any joy. amazon sell it for over £100 !! and recently a copy went on e-bay for £73. i know because i was bidding on it.

well what no one wants to tell you is that you can buy it new from the royal geographical society for only £35 delivered next day!!! this i also know because mine arrived this morning.

so if you too are looking for what is considered to be the bible for overland expeditions you know what to do. contact the RGS and ask for the expedition advisory centre.

funny how that e'bay seller has another copy up for sale, i wonder where he gets them from!!!!!!

i have no links with the RGS, i just don't want people to be paying over the odds.

Yep. Great read. I feel better having paid only £20 for it from the Land Rover Gear shop though!

I paid a bit more than you (about £25.00) from main-dealer when it was first announced, but it still surprises me the prices it commands

When did you buy it? I did a google of Land Rover Gear, and came up with a shop, but couldn't find the book in their store.
Do you have a link to this store?

Cheers

Got mine about a year ago from the shop at Bluewater.

I have seen a few copies recently at BOAB. www.BOAB.biz (http://www.BOAB.biz)
I know Chris there supplies Tom Sheppard with some kit, so could be worth a phone call. He's very helpfull.

£35 is quite a discount on Amazon etc. I'd been shocked at the Amazon price, and had decided I wasn't ready to spend £100.
