tyre wear explanation

hi all,
in a previous thread i asked if anyone knew what might be causing my tyres to scrub.
after spending much time crawling around under the car looking for broken stuff, checking tyre preasures and having the tracking checked i have been advised that it is none of these.
it is in fact entirely my own fault :blush:
my tyres are scrubbing on both sides, i am told this is due to me turning my steering before driving off, I've never heard of this before but have been told it is a common fault with power steered 4x4's.

has anyone else had this problem??????

Ah yes dry steering is its name and it is a driving test black mark too! YOu should in fact be rolling whilst steering, which is fine if you have room to roll and steer, but if you have to park in stupidly small car parking spaces dry steering is the only way of getting in and out!
