Hi all... Complete Landy virgin, until a few hours ago. I 've bought a Freelander Xei (98) with 102k, in overall VGC - new engine in last month! -
but with strange thrumming resonance over 30 mph. New brakes and shoes recently, and all suspension seems OK...

Also gear selection seems sticky. Can these clutches be adjusted or best to fit a new 'un.

Thanks - and wish me luck !

Check the rear seat mountings (the back rest part) as the nearside one on mine doesn't always engage - produces the symptoms you describe

if its a hnm ,hum, hum noise ?then check the tyres 4x4`s(freelanders)must have good tyres ,we`ve all been there done that,if your new to landrovers then keep poping in to this site and learn how they work as its not the same as 2 wheel drive.rub your hand over the tyres and see/feel if its like a saw tooth

Thanks guys... you may both be right. The rear seat back was loose and the off side rear tyre was a - a mismatch (Mich v 3 goodyear Wranglers) and B - very oddly worn, like castellations.

Any tyres reccomended above the Wranglers?
