Hi All,

I've bought a parking distance sensor which needs to be connected to the reverse light/control wire and earth. I assume I can just connect it to the reverse light on one side at the rear, does anyone know what colour the wire is or even if I should be doing that?!

BTW car is a Disco 2.

many thanks,

Kev.

Right well the whole point of connecting the sensor to the reverse switch is so that it turns on as soon as you select reverse gear.

As to finding the wire there are 2 ways of doing this;

1) find the reverse switch on the gearbox
2) find the live wire to the reversing light.

I suspect that option 2 is the easiest in a D2 becasue all you have to do is pop the light pod like you were changing a bulb find the wire and splice the sensor wire to it.

As for the earth connection, find any bolt that goes in to the metal of the body and there is your earth.

Oh and welcome to the forum Kev!
