I own two discovery 3 tdv6. as far as i am concerned, the vehicles are great. they have a nice compliant ride, handle well, and pull out of corners nicely. but i have one problem.
it started with the first. the problem is that when you floor the accelerator, sometimes, the engine goes into a failure mode in which it wonīt accelerate anymore. you have to come to a complete stop before you can accelerate.
I initially thought it was a problem with the first one, but now, the other suffers the same fate. the dealer has revised them but hasnīt actually found the problem and i wanted to know if anyone there suffers the same problem.

Have you had the Vehicle Enhancement program done?? A036/A038. I think are the numbers.

You have to upgrade things like drivetrain ecu's and powertrain ecu's software. and there is also a thing to do with the compressor! Any dealer will know what you are talking about but they are not obliged to tell anyone about it although ours have.

Do you happen to get a stutter every so often like when just normally accelerating?? bacause this could suggest EGR valve, it will feel something like air in the fuel, had a couple in with this.

The engine does stutter and goes into an engine fault mode, plus now, the suspension has some malfunction, since it has a red light in the dashboard on.

Sorry to hear about your problems. Personally, I'd LOVE a Disco3. If money was no object, I still think I'd buy one of those over a top of the range Range Rover.
