Just wandering if the arial on my 95 3.9 ES disco should go up when the radio is turned on, ie is it eletric?

Just wandering if the arial on my 95 3.9 ES disco should go up when the radio is turned on, ie is it eletric?My 95 ES (Tdi) was most certainly electric but was faulty (jumped), so put in a roof aerial that wasnt going to get snapped by hedgerows. I can only suggest that with the same spec, your's "should be" electric.

Well my arial started to wobble about so i took a look at it and it just pulled out reveling the remains of a motor inside the wing. So it is a letric one, how much will a new one cost me then?? Any ideas

I think it was an option, standard aerial was not electric.
