Hi,
I'm looking to buy another Discovery, I used to have a 200. Is there any pro's or con's with the 200 & 300, & which is the best to have?
Finally it looks like I may of sold the Vectra & Donk has said I've got to keep this vehicle longer than the 4 months I've had the Vectra for. Dont now what hes on about!!!! The last Discovery I had for nearly 4 years, just dont like/wont the Vectra.

Just go for the best (low mileage) Series 1 Disco' you can find. As prices are very soft at the moment you'll probably easily find a nice 300tdi for reasonable money.

I'd say 300 series are definately better - just look at the difference in the dashboards and interiors. The 300's dash is actually usefull!
I think the 300's are cheaper/easier to service aswell. (tdi's anyway)
Like si says, there are plenty of nice examples for sale at the moment at very reasonable prices.
Have a good look round though cos I've seen some really battered ones too.

think it depends what yourve got to spend?. had both ,personally prefere the 300. but thats only my choice. its a little more refind and as said a little easeir to work on. 300 tdi's did have a prob with cam belt allignment, although most have already been sorted. just crawl underneath and look up the drain hole in the cam cover. iff theres bits of belt and rubber debris i'd walk away. both 300 and 200 suffer rear floor corrosion so look carefully round this area. think theres plenty to be had at the mo. looking for another myself, weather 200 or 300 but sooner have the later iff the chance comes up. good luck. alan.....
