hi,hope you can help me i have now become the owner of a P reg disco the central locking used to work but stopped a couple of weeks ago.
have finally got round to putting new battery in but still does not work
do i need to recode it or something (have tried pressing buttons with ignition on) -any ideas ?

hi mate, my wifes rover 420 had the same problem when i changed the battery lost all remote functions couldnt turn alarm off or start car at all, being in the trade at the time i phoned rover technical and they advised me on resetting the remote back to the vehicle through the ignition by pressing the button with the ignition on waiting so many seconds and then pressing the other button for so many seconds then turning the ignition off while holding button down, there is a set order to do it in and certain time limits as well, get in touch with your local dealer and try to speak to a technician and they might just help you if they are worth their sort, hope you get it sorted m8

I'm in the US and have a 98 disco... Mine went also, at the same time my central locks also failed... It was the number 13 fuse that went, replaced it and my central locks started working again... On the two button remote I hit the lock button 4 times and the unlock once and it synched up the remote again.

thanks for the help now sorted.
i had checked all the fuses or so i thought ,it had a small break in it and the fob has sorted its self out by pressing several times
just joined this forum think i may be here a lot !
some people know an amazing amount of stuff
