My Disco is on a set of Michelin Synchrone, since I got it. It look like road tires to me, so can it be use off-road??
Thanks

If they are road tyres then they will not be much use on soft mud and wet grass, they should be fine on hard rocky ground and sandy surfaces. My road tyres coped with 8 inches of snow last winter.

I have Michelins, although I'll have to check which brand. They have been very impressive off road. I did the Billing off road course, only using a couple of bypasses but including the lake and they never missed their footing. The traction control light only came on for a few seconds four or five times in 40 minutes of off roading.

I have to say I was very impressed by just how good a plain vanilla Disco on what are perfectly good road tyres, actually is in some pretty hairy conditions.

Roger.

The US boys wheel with nothing more than a road tyre, but then again they predominantly have alot of very dry rocky places to wheel. Those who do see mud occassionally do put chunkier tyres on but the majority run with road tyres!

So I must stay away from the grass and also don't get them wet, until I get some real off road tires.

The older Michelin, M+S (XPC in the US) had a good reputation on the road, in snow and dry conditions. I'm not sure the same can be said about the replacements. I think it's called progress.

The rear Michelins on mine have done 57K. Never known a tyre last as long.

True, Michelins does last forever, I had friends, used different model of their tires, average live is around 4 years old and still had 30% treads when we dump them, but the down side is after the 3 years, there were some hairline crack on the sidewall. But it doesn't seems to affect the performance at all. During 93, I went to school in Florida, stay with my Aunt and uncle, they had an predule on MXV4 for some years, the hairline crack was there when I got there. Few years later after I finished school, I visited them, they had the same car, same tires, well.....
