missed my disco so much I had to get another.

sitting on my drive now waiting for insurance and tax. just needs a few little jobs: service, radio, heater blower and a clean inside.

a bit odd going from a very nice 300tdi back to an old 200 but who cares, it was the right price and very sound.

it's got the disckie seats wich I think I'll get rid of and replace them with bins for storage.

so here we go again - it's good to be back

dave,

been away for a while but glad to be back. taken a long run tonight for no good reason other than enjoyment, try explaining that to an environmentalist! truck runs great, really smooth for a 200, pulls well and no shakes, knocks or rattles. now I need to sort out the clutch!!! great, where's me spanners?

Welcome back Gary. My question is; do other marques generate this incureable loyalty and the silly Land Rover grin we all wear when driving our green oval variants? Quirky, unreliable, heavy, mostly slow and always expensive, Land Rovers seem to have everything to put people off, but we are all mesmerised.

What on earth is it? I don't know and non Landie owners cannot for the life of them understand that it even happens. Is there a soppy Renault Clio grin?

Roger.

no idea at all, but what's really wiered is I couldn't wait to find something to fix. looking for something to fiddle with I decided to investigate the sloppy clutch pedal. I was delighted when I took the pin out of the pedal and found LR had machined in an eccentric cam to adjust the slop! made a little shim from a plumbing olive, adjusted the cam. works brlliantly. not felt so pleased with myself for a long while.

I also have a cuple of old MGs which give me similar satisfaction, but my modern car, a nice as it is, doesn't.

I think it's something to do with investing youself in your machine.

who knows but I'm chuffed.
