Now I have seen these before, but only in the country, came across one 2.5m long a few years ago in a friends house, made me jump. So it wasn't that much of a surprise to find this one, albeit dead from savage cats.

That's a pretty snake, and it's a pity that it died. The eye reminds me of the Boomslang, but the colouring is wrong. Are they venomous?

venomous no, but in my reptile guide book, it says:

"extremely aggressive if captured, and will bite hard and persistantly"

so I think it makes up for not being venomous, they do grow to 3m in length though are quite thin, hence the name Whip.

Now is the time that scorpions start entering houses looking for warm places to sleep. I found one on my towel once, when I was drying my hair :eek:

Poor lil' snake...
Now, there must be some way of cooking it...
About scorpions, yeah, in Lazio there are a few, not lethal but unpleasant if they sting...
