Not forums Luke but a list of overland exped web sites (http://www.xs4all.nl/~rabbit/MENO/bookmark/Database/OverlandSection.htm) which are very interesting. You can pick up all sorts of tips for your trip. I've been referring to this list for ages now.

I tracked my mate on his RTW trip on a KTM using Horizons. Tis good for up to dat einfo on border crossings and driveability of off road routes.

thats what i wanna do before i'm 50.......pack up and sod off for 12mths around the world in me Landy......wife kids n all......just an argos tent and camping gas stove...
