I have a disco 1 v8i with alloy wheels tyre size 205/R16
and today i got hold of another alloy wheel as my spare is a steel rim,
the alloy wheel came from a disco 200TDI with tyre size 235/70 R16 what i want to know is can i change the tyres over from my steel rim to the alloy rim but as i mentioned above they are different sizes?

Is the new rim the same design and size as the others? Check for the size on the rim, it will say 6J or 61/2J or similar, check the others are the same.

Rims fit various size tyres, up to a limit. I can't remember the size difference, but 205 to 235 is probably an acceptable limit.

Apart from look at the markings on the rim, I can't really tell you anything else.

both rims are the same design,
the markings on the disco 200TDI alloy rim is 7J X 16 X 33.0AH2
and the alloy rims already on my disco 1 are 7J X 16 X 33.0
won't be able to do the steel rim untill tomorrow in the daylight.

Doesn't matter about the steel rim. The tyre is the same size as the ones on the Alloys, isn't it? It should be, so it's a straight swap.
