I'd like to take my new Disco II auto into the bush this weekend.
Do these vehicles have axle and gearbox breathers like the Defenders and Series vehicles?
Cheers!

Yep, the breathers should be visable on the bulkhead.

Not quite... Front axle breathers appear at the bulkead, rear axle are just to the top of the rear wheel arch.

I take it this is the same with my TD5? Then they will have to be extended.
BUT I see the owners manual says the maximum wading depth is 500mm and that there could be serious damage to the electronics if the water level is higher than the door sills
Seems to me that my TD5 should stay nice and clean on tar roads...

This might seem mad, but there is a breather behind my rear light cluster (upper right) on my 2003 TD5.

I was actually in there on Saturday when I changed the bulb on the nearside back light. I need to run some wires for high level indicators through there this weekend, so I'll have a look for the breathers.
At least, I now know it's dry in there so it should be safe to stash a relay in that compartment.
I haven't given up on taking this beast to the beach in Mozambique...

The breathers you've seen behind the rear light clusters are actually drain tubes from the rear sun roof.
As for wading the TD5 - go for it! Rear axle breathers can easily be extended by running a piece of tube (tightly fitted over the open end) along the chassis rails and onto the bulkhead. I've done mine, terminating it where the front breathers sit. You'll find the breather just at the top of the rear right hand wheel arch. stiff black tube, kinked at the end. I just cut off the kink and added a length of flexible pipe from good old B&Q, zip tied along the chassis, tucked out of the way.
