2000 DiscoII V8 - At the very back of the engine bay, over the top of the left-hand cylinder head....
Looks like a quick release hose, rather than an electrical plug.
Should it be connected to anything? What is it?
All suggestions welcome (within reason.....)!
Cheers

probably a connection for some accessory you haven't got.
So what are you missing?

It will be either a fuel pipe or a vacuum pipe, it's hard to make out.
Have a look around for a plastic pipe or a steel end with a small raised ring on it, about a half and inch from the end.
It will be for the emissions probably.

Thanks for the comments guys - The clean hands are down to the recent new baby.... Mum gets upset when I get oil on his baby-grows!
The Disco is an ES Premium, and appears to have all the bells and whistles, so don't know if it's for something that isn't there.
Can't find a corresponding loose connection, but there's not a lot of room under all the gubbins for the multipoint LPG.
The connector looks LR, and is definitely a quick-connect, as nothing comes in or out of it whilst the car is going (no air out/vacuum in - stuck finger in it with engine running).
The car currently has a huge misfire, that won't allow it to rev over 3K RPM, since going into LR for attention to a very small misfire - Was wondering if it was something the stealer-ship had left off....
Thanks again

Take it back, then ask them "What does this do?", while they try to cure the Misfire.
There are spare sockets and plugs about on Looms, but those hose connectors don't usually lie around with nothing connected.
I'll have a look at the manual and see if there is anything obvious.

Already been through that debacle..... Apparently they can't find anything wrong - "There must be something wrong with your LPG system....".
OK, so how come it's worse on petrol, then?
At the end of my tether now, so was looking for things that they could have put back wrong (they replaced the leads, so the inlet manifold should have been off to do that), and that connector is all I could find.
I have the LR "Rave" CD, not a "Haynes", and couldn't find any clues in there.

I was thinking of something like number 1.
Is the pipe bent across the bulkhead and goes down it?
Have a look for a pipe on the nearside of the inlet manifold. Can you hear a hiss when the engine is running?

Hi Templ4r
That looks like a possibility - the pipe doesn't hiss when the car runs, making me believe it is some kind of quick-connect, and seals when it is disconnected.
What does worry me is the fact that whatever should be connected to it won't seal.
I'll have a look around the inlet manifold, tomorrow, for something that it should be connected to!

My Disco 2 V8 has the same pipe, and like yours it is also disconnected so I don't think you have too much to worry about.
That said mine runs like Cr@p so if you do find out it is essentail please let me know!
