A friend of mine has a new TDV6 and he is looking at fitting a towbar. Apparently, it's a snap in thing. Landrover have quoted him £370 for the part. Does anyone know of a (cheaper!) alternative?

I'm sure if he can afford a LR3 (lucky git) he can afford a genuine tow bar!

Thanks, I'll pass it on.....I'm sure he'll be interested in the forum anyway....looks like a very active site you've got there.

Me - "I just need to spend £X on a widget"
Mrs - "What! More bits! You should have got everything you needed when you bought the damn thing, the amount you paid for it!"

;)

Make sure there is a Towbar on before you buy it though, otherwise it could cost you upto 370 quid. I wouldn't want to spend all that cash then have to fork out again....lol

I'm not such a lucky git :) - I've just boughta 2000 disco & need to fit a towbar. Am short of ££££ - is there much difference between LR towbars & aftermarket? I will be towing 2 large horses in a 1T trailer, in case relevant - all advice appreciated thanks

I had a Witter towbar on my Freelander and that pulled or caravan and various trailers no problem. Witter are a very good make. Not sure about other makes though!
