Have just fitted a rover car read out with no problem paid £15 from the scrap yard it came out of a rover 200 two screws and the jobs done the car was a p.reg 200 si just have a look in your local scrapyard.The part from rover is the same stock number for all the different cars as 200,25,400,45,600,800. there may be a price difference if you go for a old model car.

Nice one. Was that the clock unit only ? or the integrated R770 radio version ?

I made one that does me from a digital clock from Maplin glued into the back of the old housing.

Simon it was the integrated R770 radio version but these are orange and black read out makeing them a better looking bit of kit.garry

BTW it certainly gets hot there, which is almost certainly what causes the original failure. The battery holder I fitted to the back of my modified clock failed after 4 days in France, it had warped causing one end of the battery to pop out ! trusty cable-ties fixed it of course :)
