Just being lazy here....Is the ecu in the driver's footwell?

Which one Harry? As far as I know, which is not much, there's one under the bonnet somewhere and two more elsewhere. One is rhumoured to be under the drivers area. I've no idea what they all do, but a guess would be one for engine management - a lot needed for Td5 - one for auto gearbox and one for immobiliser/TC/HDC/ABS and door locks.

JonV8 would definitely know.

Thanks again. I will be digging around at the weekend. Although it's only been a week or so and there's nowt wrong with the Td5 that I have seen so far, I still miss the 300Tdi. Ho hum.
