I had a 2001 TD5 GS auto Disco had some major problems with it got rid and now run a Nissan Navara no probs with it so far.

Think I just had a bad one but will never buy another LR for business use.

Glad I didn't see that before I bought mine for work Graham. I've put almost twenty thousand on in thirteen months. I listen like a hawk, but I'm growing very fond of the noise it makes - never mind all the other noises a Disco makes. I tow with mine - not for work - and it hardly breaks sweat. Auto box stuck in third not long after I got it and I didn't really notice until one Friday evening. Six adults up and a loaded 1.5t Conway trailer through London to Gilwell Park and all I thought was; 'it's a bit sluggish tonight. Once over fifty though, it hummed away like a box of birds.

Hi Roger, like I said mine was a bad one put me off new LR's the japs build quality and electrikery seem more reliable.
The Nissan has more power than the Disco when you put your foot down it goes, the Disco seemed to think about it for a few seconds.
I'm very happy with the Nissan it does a good job for me as it's very versatile.
Sounds like your Disco is ok hope it continues :)
