Well, obviously it's a garbage bin! But what's the whole steel contraption all about?

Answer to follow soon, but here's a clue: You probably won't see one of these in the UK :D

Cheers,
Marc

or monkey proofing in south Africa?

10 points to BigJim :)

It's actually for baboons not monkeys, but close enough. ;)

The pic was taken at Cape Point, outside Cape Town last weekend. Brigid and I went down for the weekend and had a great time.

Friday lunch was at the Blue Marlin near Cape Point. Magnificent seafood platter, great wine, and 10 to 12 whales splashing about in the bay about 100m away from us.

Don't call him antipodean Marc  - he won't know what it means and he'll sulk because he thinks it means Australian. :D

Roger.

PS: I thought it was a methane digester!

If Dubya invades us, we have a secret weapon against which there is no defence: It's called Peach moonshine. Ask ROY, POODLE, and Weedy about it... ;)

I wish Dubya would just invade Zimbabwe. If he did, we'd be rid of Mugabe, and South Africa would get all that yummy aid money, just like Pakistan did for helping with the American invasion of Afghanistan.

Fact about South Africa Number 76598: Did you know that South Africa is still the ONLY country in the world to have voluntarily dismantled its nuclear weapons program?

OHMIGOSH!!! You're quite right Roger.

Please forgive me Toppa. I would NEVER be so impoilite as to call someone an Australian!!! I just wasn't brought up to talk that way. ;)

Here's an extract from Wikipedia:
In geography, the antipodes (from Greek anti- "opposed" and pous "foot") of any place on Earth is its antipodal point; that is, the region on the Earth's surface which is diametrically opposite to it. Two points which are antipodal to one another are connected by a straight line through the centre of the Earth.

In Britain, "the Antipodes" is often used to refer to Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and other African countries with a British colonial background, e.g. Kenya, Tanzania etc. (and "Antipodeans" for their inhabitants), despite the fact that neither Australia nor New Zealand actually overlap the antipodal points of Britain. However, New Zealand (or more precisely the North Island) is antipodal to Spain, as shown on the map on this page. In this case it simply means people of British descent who live in countries fully or partially in the southern hemisphere.

So, in reallity, Hawaiians are antipodean to me. :D

We've done that Geobloke - we're on to the Antipodes and peach moonshine. I didn't drink it, but I saw the wreckage afterwards. Mind you, Roy was still standing - mostly - but his glass wasn't.
