Hello,

Just having a bit of trouble pin-pointing the location of a leak thats coming from the transfer gearbox (300 TDi 94). Both the filler and drain plugs look fine but oil seems to be coming from a L-shaped plate bolted onto the upper side of the casing, plate has 7 ten mm bolts. Bolts are difficult to undo - they seem to be cemented in place. There are no leaks from the drive shafts. Does anyone know where common leaks occur in the transfer gearbox?

Thanks for the help.

Most common leak is from the output shaft. It leaks onto the handbrake housing, making it US.
