Started my dad's LR3 today to see if the battery was charged. A message came up and said, "Transmission Fault, Traction Reduced"

Any ideas on how to fix this without going to a dealership? Closest dealership is in Fort Worth and that's 300 miles for me.

Thanks

Hi James :)

I tried to look this up in the manual but it was taking too long to download and the mice are getting tired of spinning the wheel :D

If you don't have the manual to hand, you could get it from here (http://www.ownerinfo.landrover.com/extfree2viewlrprod/index.jsp) and see if it's any help.

Once again, thanks man.

I was thinking of just disconnecting the battery and starting over, thinking that would clear the code. I'll try that if I don't find it in the manual. If the battery doesn't work, looks like I'm calling Land Rover Fort Worth or Road Side Assistance

did land rover mention something about this a little while ago...something about it being because of the jaguar engines and it can easily be fixed with a software update?

I may have got this totally wrong however and be sprouting rubbish though as this may only be for the range rover/sport im not sure but its worth a try?

You could check out the US Technical Service Bulletins here (http://www.tsb.com/recalls/index.html) - there have certainly been plenty for the LR3! I htink you have to subscribe and pay to read the actual bulletins, but maybe if you got a reference number for one and then phoned a dealer, they could tell you over the phone if it is just a laptop job?

...or ask on disco3.co.uk - some members have access to GTR and other dealer related 'known issues' bulletins...
