View Full Version : Pipe off vacuum pipe

I have a L reg 200tdi and on the servo vacuum pipe from the pump to the servo unit is a T piece with a small about 1/4 in rubber pipe coming off it and the pipe disappears on the other side of engine bay into the bulkhead Has anyone Ideas were it goes ???????

It operates a servo on the side of the heater box,cant remember its function - its too far into friday night and I've drunk too much already !

Servos are vacuum operated motors/levers. They move the flaps on the heater.
On a Sang Yong Musso they stop the engine and engage the front hubs.
Some Range Rover diff locks use vacuum.

Thanks Chris still dont understand what it does The problem i have is if left for 2-3 hours then you start the engine and drive off you have no servo assist on brakes for about 30 secs until vacum builds up so it must have a leak from someware just trying to find from where

If it is worrying you, blank that pipe off. I will have a look through the manuals and see where it goes.

It goes to the heater valve or fresh air flap. Can you control the temperature?
The pipe has come off, leakingh or the diaphragm is split.
Look at the back of the heater, near the bulkhead, it should be there.

Thanks for that will have to investigate it further see if i can find the fault
