i'm gonna do an oil change on a 300 tdi.it's done 110,000 miles and i'm not sure what type to use.20/50...10/50?there seems to be alot of different grades.also can anyone recommend the best make?magnatec?heeeelp please!

I've bought Millers for years. Decent oil at a sensible price. I can't remember for sure what grade I used to use in the 300Tdi, but I used to change it every 3000 miles and the filter at 6000. Far better to buy oil by spec rather than name. The stuff all comes from the same factories.

I use Millars EFE Have done so for over ten years.

Any good quality 10/40 mineral oil, not synthetic as the TDI drink it.

Have a look at Difflock.com they have a section devoted to oils.

use a semi synthetic, i use halfords gold . got an offer at the mo by one get the other half price. ran me 200 on it and me 300. like you say fully synth no way. semi good for the turbo . alan.....

Dunno if you get it in the UK, but the standard answer to that question in South Africa would be Caltex Delo 400.
