I have a problem with my Disco 2 TD5. The ABS/Traction Control & Hill decent warning lights come on. (About twice a day). I have had it checked and been told it is the shuttle valve.
The main agent say change the ABS modulator. (Cost £1000 for parts only)
I have also been told by an independent Land Rover garage that I can replace the ECU with a modified one. (Less sensitive)
I need the ABS to work as I regularly tow heavy trailers.
Has anyone had experience of this problem and how did you get around it.
Thanks
Martin

I havee been having this problem, I cant seem to get to replicate it for the dealer and they are saying that the computer is not registering a fault.
They changed the foot pedal brake switch, which for a while seemed to help and then it has started again.
i've heard that it can even be damp in the connectors at the sensors end.
Whats the main dealers diag saying?
I had this problem which was rectified with a new flywheel position sensor.
Forgive me if I am wrong but a lot of my experiences come from Jags....similar in an engineering way to Landys is many respects!
A lot of ABS problems come from pushing dirty fluid back up the pipe when you change the brake pads. The bleed nipple should always be open when you push the caliper back so that old fluid is pushed out rather than back towards the ABS pump. If this is how dirt has got into the ABS solenoids causing them to stick then a good brake bleed may help. Bleed each wheel lots of times to get all the dirt out. May be worth driving between bleeds as well just so the pump has a chance to fire all the solenoids.
I know a man who checked the wiring diagram so that he could apply 12v directly to the solenoid and fire them many times to shake the dirt out.

Its sounds like the shuttle valve to me. Mine was the same a few months ago after the pads and discs were replaced and local specialist sorted it in no time the following day.

We just had the same problem. Several possibilities here but mostly ABS sensor on one of the front wheels. However in our case these sensors were ok but ... we had to change one of the front wheelhubs. In the front wheelhub there is a ring included that gives the signal to the ABS sensor. This ring sometimes comes loose giving a wrong signal to the sensor and causing the ABS/TC/HDC lights come on.

The Wriring from the sensor to the ECU can also become damaged ... aparentley its croping up on earley D11s this loggs as a faulty sensor even if its been replaced, most likley to happen to the frount sensors
Very ealry cars also had an ECU "that could not forget" whell thats what i was told, LR are aware of the runs that are most likley to be effected buy this
the chap to have a word with is JonV8 ...
