Has anyone else had a cracked fuel line on the tank of a TD5?

I lost over a quarter tank of deisel yesterday in 40 miles   before I noticed the leak when I parked up.
Took it into the dealer at 3.30 and they said they could sort it while I waited. By 5 pm they had fitted a new fuel line to the tank under warranty and jetwashed all the deisel away from the underside.

I had noticed for a couple of weeks a drop in power and fuel consumption has gone down but I've had a roofbox on the top so put it down to that. :(

Full marks for Guy Salmons Sheffield again!! :) :)

You should of had the recall notice to change the fuel lines about 2 years ago,i used my Disco alot off road and the same thing happened to me twice in the end they replaced the fuel line's and used some plastic conduate to cover the pipes as the pipes where catching when i lowered the susspention

Thanks Shanno

I've found the recall:

Land Rover are recalling Discovery Series II Td5s between VIN serial numbers 736101 and 865281 (5130 vehicles).

The fuel line has the potential to chafe against the ABS/water sensor and fuel pump harnesses, which over a prolonged period of time could result in a fuel leak and the vehicle failing to start.

(Land Rover are undertaking a rolling recall, if you have an affected vehicle you should hear from you dealer soon. If you do not hear from you dealer you should contact them to have the remedial work (approx 2 to 3 hours) carried out as soon as possible.)

The reason I didn't recieve may be that my VIN no's 8656**

Wonder if mines the only one that's slipped through the net!!

Umm, a couple of months ago I'd washed the car, and, driving in the middle of nowhere saw that the back window was misty. Funny, I thought, don't recall any water lying on the road?

Thought no more till parked up - mega smell of diesel & a waterfall of the stuff from the engine bay.

Cut to the quick, fuel return line from the regulator had broke / come undone. Took LR dealer a while to fix, cost 2/3 tank of fuel and a large wad of notes to get fixed. And diesel just everywhere.:(

80k miles, a few months out of warranty, could have been worse. I suppose.

I had a fuel leak on mine fixed some months ago the vechicle was losing power and the rear window was getting covered in diesel, i read somewhere that it may have been a manufacture defect and they had been a recall on the veichles where the pipe was rubbing, i contacted landrover and they couldnt help me and my warranty didnt cover the cost either, i felt like i had been ripped off shelling out for this.
