I joined nobs, recieved membership card /paper 9 month later, seems like years ago. Never heard anything off them?
Hi mate, are you on the NOBS website? there is a fantastic forum on there, and anyone looking for beaters/beating tend to post on there.
NOBS forums HERE (http://www.nobs.org.uk/forum/index.php)
I'm the same username on there as I am on here.....

Hi Roz, I'm the nob known as Simon and Harry if you didn't recognise the 110.:D (Those of you who aren't nobs, Harry is my little dog)
Yes the forum is the best way to contact people and get beating. Nick you need to contact Ash on nobs, he is your rep.
Hadn't made the connection!
good to see folk on both with the same interests!

You are lucky! I've had begger all:( It's ok telling us to use the web sites, but what about people who don't have a ready access to such ammenities? How many other people paid their £5 only to recieve a crappy membership paper 6 months later?, when I say paper, thats exactly what it was. Sorry chaps, but I'm not the only one who thinks it could be a scam:(

its not a scam. Its got botham and vini jones heading it.
I think its over subcribed. Shooting, especilay accosiated activities that dont need you to kill anything have become realy popular.

If it is over subscribed, surley they should stop taking money if the can't deliver the goods. It's not even like a club where at least you would get a news letter of some sort. I'm very dissapointed-although only a fiver, it's the hope that I had of something good developing of being a member being dimminshed that dissapoints me. How many other people have given money to have only a token piece of paper in return? :(

Have any of you guys actually ASKED for any beating.
Just being a member doesen't automatically mean you are looking for somewhere. Also when I have contacted people to offer beating I rarely get a reply.
Any problems contact one of the admin team, that's what they are there for.

Hi
Im also on NOBs and I think its great.(Im the Bristol/Avon Rep)
Got loads of advise ref Dog training and even been to a few training sessions, even purchased my dog via another NOBs member.
Like evrything I guess it all depends what you want from a forum.
I use it to learn as much as possible about the countryside and its sports etc, as I use this forum to gain as much as i can on Landrovers.
I got contacts via NOBs for Beating, even at Longleat, but I now go Beating with a Team of Farmers which I got talking to one day...great fun, great wildlife and loads of fresh air...beats working on the PC all day.
But if anyone is interested in Beating and dont fancy joining a forum you could always pop down to your local gun shop who maybe able to point you in the right direction.
Cheers
