Hi All ref my previous thread, my freelander is dead!!!! i was recommend a local garage and gave them a call he's had the car for a day and found the problem. the CAT has blown he's also told me that some1 before i had the car has changed the Lambda sensor for the wrong one and forced it in the manifold so he'll have to drill it out and re-tap it and replace it with the right one i should get it back today all being well.
guess I'll never take it to an AA service centre again they don't know what there doing !!!!

Re: Please help our Freelander is dead!!!
Is it a K series? ( petrol)
We have had a few cars in recently that won't rev and seem to make noises out of the air box. they tick over fine, but won't rev.
The Cats have collapsed. Get them to take the Lambda sensor out and see if it runs.
Chris
I Thought it would be the Cat.

My son has a VW golf 1.6 carb. The local garage did some work on the timing and made it run badly.Only a chance conversation with the mechanic revealed that they had set the timing to a 1.8 inj.
OK the car has little bits of a golf GTi on it but one glance under the bonnet shows it has a carb and not injection.
