G'day everyone,
I'm in Brisbane - you know - the place where you blokes were only 1 nil down several weeks ago! I've just joined up as I have recently put down a cash deposit for the new '07 Defender and am a sponge gathering info from bullbars to ECU remaps - hope it's OK to join prior to actually taking delivery.
I have always wanted a LR and a Fender in particular, so took a TD5 for a test drive recently and fell in love - Man, what a hoot! It's kind of like a Harley with 4 wheels in terms of the blast it gave me to drive. I decided to wait for the new model as the new engine/gearbox sounds like the go - but I have to wait until June next year to get it - which is driving me nuts.
No firm pricing is available in Oz yet - does anyone have any info on likely pricing? When is it out over there? Hopefully it will be similar in price to this year's model which costs $53,300.00 on the road here in Queensland.
And one other thing - does anyone know of a link to some video footage of that Defender which busted down the doors of Saddam's joint several years ago? I remember seeing it on the news at the time and am pretty sure it was a Landy that did the job. Our neighbors here in Qld are giving me the #$&* so I thought I'd get some tips on doing some LR "renovations" once I get it!
