Hello

I'm very new to Landrover & offroading, I've just moved out to the middle east approximatley nine months ago.
Must first purchase (two months ago) 1993 V8i Discovery (Special Edition) and today I picked up a really cheap 1990 V8 4.6 Range Rover Vogue. My wife isn't that happy with having the front yard cluttered with 4 x 4's..... though I'm over the moon.

nothing exciting jsut work for an oil company doing enviromental type stuff

Not a good advert for the green brigade me owning two V8's and my company pool car is a 2006 Ford Explorer RSC.

The range rover has heaps of problems!, had a landrover mechanic take a closer look, basically it needs a replacement engine. (haven't told the wife yet) he susgested we replace the engine with an old discovery lump - is this possible? Cost for engine and fitting will be approx 4,000 QAR £500....

Not cheap, In the past expats couldn't buy houses but this year they have opened up the market place, though this only applies in certain areas / developments - basically the mega rich!!!)

Anything to do with cars is cheap.

Fill the disco with a full tank of super: £4.00.
Brand new H3 Hummer: £19,000.
My wife's impreza is due for a 5000km service (Dealership) : £34.00
