It depends if you want something original or hacked about. This vehicle has been hacked about, as it has a 2.4 litre engine fitted, so the mileage, does that relate to the new engine, or the old one, or a combination fo the two. This vehicle would have had a 2.25 litre petrol engine fitted.
You maybe should post your request on our sister site, www.landroverusaforums.com (http://www.landroverusaforums.com) as they may have more knowledge as to whether the vehicle is over priced.

Thanks. I'll drop by and inquire. I was trying to decode the vin# and for some reason I was coming up with a diesel as original. My main interest is something that will run strong for a long time, and fun to learn/work on. I've an interest in all things mechanical and as the father of three boys, would like to pass some of that on. I'm relatively unfamiliar, what is the general opinion of the 2.4 eng?

Land Rover has never made a 2.4 engine, so who knows what type it actually is, so is very hard to decide whether it was a good choice or not.
I couldn't even guess what it might be, as no doubt it is an engine from the us market, rather than the UK....

Do people over bore the cylinders on a rover like you would on other engines to increase displacement, or alleviate wear? Then of course I suppose there's a chance he doesn't know what engine he has.

Looking at the engine picture, I'd say it's a bad spelling of a 2 1/4 litre engine. The 2.25 Petrol lump.
