Hi and good cheers to all on the forum!
Our 2001 Td4 clocked over to 250 000 km on Tuesday the 28th. Of these kilos, we had it since 95000. Longest lasting problem: The LED in the clock died. Land Rover in South Africa does not stock the item.(according to the local dealer){218 000km)
Solution? A LED from a radio dealer that builds control panels for DJs
Most expensive breakage: The thermostat housing developed a hairline crack that only leaked when the engine temp was cold and outside temp ranged between 3 and 9 degrees C. Cost R1931.78 fitted(got from BMW agents)
Other major spares replaced were the shocks at 220 000km and front wheel rotors(brake discs) at 120 000 and again at 220 000.
All three diff rear diff mounts were replaced at 220 000
Reat was normal wear and tear items.
Regular 20000 km oil and oil filter change. All oils IRD, gearbox and rear diff changed at 160 000 and again at 240 000. Previous owner had done at 80 000 as noted in service booklet
