Hi everyone - Duncan calling. We're the very happy owners of a 5 door 53 Freelander (square headlights whatever body shape that is), its a td4 Kalahari. To be honest it was quite a surprise to find ourselves buying a freelander on the 21/12 ! We've a baby due at the end of January and with between my Honda Integra type-R and my wife's pug 206cc we were hardly ideally setup for our new roles :) A scenic was on the cards until a chance conversation between my folks and their neighbour - 1 freelander about to be traded in and more than happy for us to take it instead. I've always wanted something hugely capable that you can rely on - granted we don't live in the middle of no-where but the Dunstable to Hemel Hempstead trek by back lanes every day can be fun in the winter, all the excuse I need ! :)
Couple of things to sort out ... 1) whats this LR allen key thing that came with the car!?, 2) where can i get a rear right upper light guard without paying through the nose, 3) similarly roof bars to go across the rails, 4) having JUST bought a bluetooth car kit with ISO connectors for the integra I now find myself wanting to fit it to the LR, but its got BMW connectors from what I gather. Happy to swap headunits but what about the changer under my seat - is it a standard unit that will plug into a sony\alpine\pioneer\whatever HU?
Cheers all - you'll find me lurking in the freelander forums !

""Ja, herinneren wij de dames in rood 90!"
Yes, we remember the ladies in the red 90!
It was a fun day. I enjoyed the Solihull to Gaydon run, though it was the first time we had driven with a flag and I was worried it was going to fly off! The plaque still has pride of place in our car.
I enjoyed looking at the photos on your website. You are well travelled!
We will be going to Gaydon again for 2007 and hopefully the run too.
Cheers

Duncan, I have an ISO radio Mute BMW type for a freelander nocking around the office. We bought it and then the land rover was no longer part of our fleet.
Yours if you want it (and i can find it)

Hello friends
In the past, we have owned ex-MOD 109, and then a little 90.
Went out yesterday and bought a Freelander 1.8 GS.
A little bit chewed, is it a real Landy, in the past, people used to flash at me (their lights that is), and we felt as though we were part of a secret club.
Will pick up Freddy the Freelander on Saturday, he is green. If you see us in the NE of England, give us a flash, make my day! (Lights that is!).
Cheers
Oh by the way, does anyone know where I can get a key fob with the Landy logo on. Have ordered the dog guard and boot liner today, Hamsterley Forest on Sunday, Wooh!:)

SantaCom - thanks ever so much for the kit, it all arrived today. I'm overwelmed, I was expecting a bmw-iso cable or something basic like that but the kit you've sent through is excellent - should have me up and hands-free in no time.
Thanks again,
Duncan
