3 door rear door opens itself or won't open

The rear door on our 99xei has developed a life of it's own

Driving along it tries to open. The catch can be heard clicking

Then when you try to open the door it may or may not work (dog in back :eek: ) Is there a switch in the handle that could be faulty?

If it opens then the window may not always go up when it closes.

Got it in the garage

Lifted the Hardback and it still makes no improvement, (So probably not the microswitch) The door lock still refuses to respond then opens itself when ignition is turned on :confused:

Have a look at the back of the handle. It might want a bit of a lube.

Took off the handle and dismantled it

There are 2 springs in the handle 1 had rusted through, so I replaced it.

The door doesn't open itself now!

Still not working properly though

Sometimes the window doesn't drop when I use the rear handle. If I drop the window using the fob the door will then open. Close the door and raise the window with the key in the back lock.

Any ideas where to go next?

hmm i would say the rear door regulator, winding mechanism.
