hi i own a 1998 s reg 2 litre diesel freelander. i drove it the other day and noticed it started to slip on it, then the following day come to move of the drive and the clutch does nothing now you can put the pedal down it feels like your pushing the clutch it but when released there is no drive and you can change gear not even engaging the clutch. plus the fact that it had a new clutch kit replaced on it 2 year ago and also a new clutch master and slave hydralics. cheers

Is it a 2lt L series? if so, the slave is on the outside of the gearbox. Check the arm it attaches to, isn't seizing in the bellhousing. They press the clutch in, but don't let it out again. get someone to press the pedal while you watch it move.

If it's aTD4, the slave is inside, there isn't much you can do with that.

It will be L series. It is most probably the pressure plate or the centre hub stripped out of the centre plate, but it is always worth checking the clutch arm before you strip it all down. Hydraulic systems explode the master cylinder into the footwell and the rod comes away, when the arm seizes.
