Discovery 1 Door latch

Hi all, when I unlock my Disco 1 with the remote the little lock indicator doesn't move fully up, meaning I have to reach round and lift it before I can unlatch the door from the outside. I ordered a new spring, went to fit it today and it's not broken. I've had the whole latch out, but everything seems to be in perfect order. Any other idea's??

OK, put it all back together again and it's working at the moment, I hope it'll be permanent. If anyones wondering, the latch was cleaned up and oiled before being put back in, and when I put the central locking actuator back on I made sure to slide it back as far as possible. From the looks of it, it was mounted a little further forward, and I suspect that was what the problem was.
