Hi all,
Not sure where to post this.
I have a series 2 TD5 1999 model and today had another episode (last happened in 2001) of the car not responding to the key fob (ie doors not locking/unlocking) or starting despite all the usual warning lights coming on, BUT no starter motor noise, no fuel pump noise, just silence.

First time it happened we were trying to get back in the car after pulling up for lunch and then today when I was filling at my usual service station.

According to LRA, back in 2001, where I had parked was a known area of interference with the key fob, and I had to use the key to unlock. And today the service station attendant said that another Discovery had the same problems at the same spot at that pump. We just pushed the car 2 car lengths and everything worked like normal (same with the other Discovery)!!??
Is this a known problem with this Series and has it happened with Disco 3?

I have heard of this problem before, its to do with interfearence on the radio signal from the key fob to the vehicle. Happens on certain makes and models, not only land rover.

Technology is not always a good thing :)
