Hi
Is it neccessary to remove the fan to change the auxiliary belt on a TD5. (I have a 1999 TD5 GS with aircon). If so is it left or right hand thread.?.

You should be able to feed the belt through the fan blades lower down the cowl, there are slightly wider gaps on a 300, I seem to think they are there on a TD5 as well.
