I have just purchased new non vented discs off Paddock for the pricely sum of £12.93 each. They are not lockheed but even they were only £17.63 each. Why does every article I read on Discoveries tell me the spare parts are dear? I also replaced a rear caliper, recon at £48 + vat, cheaper than a Ford Fiesta!

Why does every article I read on Discoveries tell me the spare parts are dear? Cos people buy trucks that are too new (IMHO) and are still depriviating and they take 'em to dealers and independants, who are always (you'd hope!) going to fit Genuine.
The DIY-er (is that rude!? :) ) has the time to source OEM parts; which are going to be a little cheaper, cos they ain't in a green box :)
I'm finding that the same is also true of Suzuki SJs. I was told parts are like hens teeth and cost a king ransom.....ooo metaphor overload :).....but this isn't completely true.

They are cheap because the same calipers and discs used on the Kings Road luxury gin-palace are fitted to Sherpas' and the modern LDV commercials as well. Have been for years.

Well when I was a lad the RR was the "in thing", but I suppose that times have moved on, fashions change and all that.
Can you fit a bull bar and winch to a Boxster?

Sandy,
You could it wanted to, but dont expect the car to ever move again, the bullbar is probably heavier than the motor.
