Looks like a Ferret on an MSP? You can see one partly rigged for drop in front of the Airborne Forces Museum at Browning Barracks, Aldershot.

On reflection looking at the grill, it could be Saladin, Saracen family vehicle? AN interesting photo:)

Is it a soft top version of the Chevy / Ford Quad 25 pdr gun tractor?
Can't be more precise as the only one I saw came in an Airfix box:o .
Reason being we are presumably looking at the front [headlights, bridge plate etc etc], but there is also an exhaust pipe poking round the front of the front wheel.
Also I suppose an Arty vehicle might be a useful bit of kit to be able to Air-drop.

Yes very well spotted, that one feature is the only thing in that picture that identifies it from more common variants
