... for a defender 200 tdi.
Well, I bet you can guess the topo. He's got a disco unit and wants to do it "by/buy the book"... so he asked me to ask here (he no speeky engleesh). I think the part no.s are ERR1435 + ERR678, s/h obviously preferred!!!!!!
Long shot I know, but the only way to travel is optimistically.
Come on, somebody must have a knackered defender unit...

Ta for looking

The 19J 2.5TD manifolds fit, with a touch of a grinder to widen the 'U' for the studs to line up, they are a crap engine so could be more plentiful secondhand than tdi. http://www.landrovernet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=83438

Rob,
I'd seen your comments b4 about the 19j, but hadn't spotted the update c/w piccies. Very interesting.
I'll need to look again, but I think that life's harder over here cos we're all lhd and so have issues with the steering gear etc.
Thanks for the answer... STILL LOOKING THO!

He does know that is not the only difference between a Disco and Defender engine???

Front cover, water pump...... etc etc are also different.

I've got the inlet manifold and exhaust manifold for a TD (19J) I know the inlet manifold is different but bodgeable, not sure if the exhaust one is the same or different? Porny?
If he wants to do it properly he probably don't wanna bodge it though:rolleyes::D

Cheers, Ben

Yes... I've wondered about the exhaust manifold too. I think the turbo is the same between 200tdi and 19J. What about the manifold, anybody??

I fitted a 200tdi Rangie turbo to my 19j manifold, if that helps

Panic over... we think.
A Frenchman living in Italy has sourced s/h def manifolds in Austria... and will be pony expressing them down here... oh!, the wonder of forums.
Thanks a bunch for the really helpful/positive input
