All passenger vehicles except those in band A have had an increase in RFL.... the headline £300 (rising to £400 in 2008) rate only appiles to vehicles registered after April 2006 and sitting in Band G... This happens to include all LR apart from TD4 Freelanders. Band G also includes the Mini Cooper S and Mondeo 2.0 litre Automatic (amongst many others).

Its nice to know that my impulsiveness over my Disco 3 purchase in February 2006 (get in there!!!!!) is going to pay off to the tune of nearly £200 a year - excellent!

£33K actually - but hey, you takes your little victories wherever you can
Its almost certainly going to mean that mines going to be worth slightly more than one registered 7 weeks later - I think the shihster has created another vehicle breakpoint date like the 1973 date for paying any tax at all.

Also excludes "commercial" variants [ Defender Hard-tops, Truck-cabs, etc]

Also excludes "commercial" variants [ Defender Hard-tops, Truck-cabs, etc] So does that mean I'm excluded with the Nissan pick up just checked on that link above and it shows £175.00 for 12 months.

Just bought Road tax Online DVLA for my DiscoII Td5 53 plate but 2004 model. It was £195 for a year. I thought that it was going to be £205 ,so I'm a Tenner up!! But if the tax was increased to discourage "Chelsea Tractors" its not going to have any great effect, is it. I mean, if you are paying out 30 - 65,000 for a new DiscoIII/RangeRover Sport/RangeRover/Shogun/Trooper etc.,then a couple of hundred pounds a year is hardly likely to discourage you is it. Just a means of raising revenue - again.
