Hi all, just put my Disco on Ebay (item number 200095106407) :(. Does anyone out there have a l/h drive Disco? I'm moving to the Czech Republic so can't take my pride and joy with me.

Looks clean that, best of luck
Traded in my 1992 LHD last month. Had it from new and not in bad condition, just did not need a large car anymore. Got 1K for it. I don't know if they still have it. Charles Warner of Lincoln salesman named Dean.

`I feel your pain man`...
I was looking for a Defender 110 when it came to move up from my UK registered LHD ex military 90....(kids grew to big to seat comfortably)...anyway...I found a nice 1995 300tdi disco in Epsom Green at a local independent place here...was adamant that I wanted a 110 CSW...looked everywhere but could`nt find one that was priced in a real world price range. I went back and bought the Disco...the reason??.....10yrs old,one mature military officer owner stationed in Saudi where the LR was sourced(rust free chassis..yeeha) non smoker with no pets/children.....and a full service history about half an inch thick. This man did`nt even do oil changes himself. The place where I bought it from, after the mainstealer warranty ran out,did everything. He has a concept of using genuine parts and will not put in even a reconditioned injector let alone a reconditioned injector pump..has to be new each time. Although I did`nt want it I could`nt NOT buy it with it being such a good one.You only come across good ones like that once in a while. So,all that to say...I still yearn for a 110....if you find a LHD 110 CSW in your travels that someone would like to swap for a Disco please feel free to post.!!!
Good luck in your search as I know how annoying it is trying to find what you want....
I take it surely you could get an LR where you move to easier than trying to source elsewhere??....that way all papers are in order and its just a straight sale??.....

Hi there, I've had a quick look, and it seems that any second-hand car is more expensive on mainland Europe, in comparison to UK prices, often double the amount!
I can't afford to pay £4K for a car that I could buy in the UK for £2K.
The Czech Republic, although only recently having joined the EU, is also still expensive for 2nd hand (western) car sales, and Disco's are quite sought after over there!

I know where you`re coming from...even if you look at UK prices for LHD vehicles you`ll see they are highly priced, compared to a few years ago when they were so much cheaper....theres a chap in Normandy who buys here and sends back to the UK...I think because they get a high price here its reflected in the UK price nowadays........in my opinion theres more people bailing out of the UK due to costs/taxes/weather that the market is alive.
Just as an after thought if you try www.mobile.de you`ll see this is a German autotrader site. Its just that my friend here found it cheaper to go there and buy a td5,drive it back and get it registered than buying it in France. Also a lot of the BMW bikers use this to get a cheap BMW and bring back to the UK,eg my friend bought aBMW GS1100 and was able to ride it back to Northern Ireland all for cheaper than a private sale. Also,I find that in France nobody really cares where the vehicle came from originally as long as its a good one...theres not the same `stigma` as there is in the UK about buying what an `import` car.....Anyway all this to say might be worth a having a wee peep at the site.
:)

Thanks Rowsi, but don't worry. I have too much on my plate at the moment, what with the move across to Czech.
My Disco sold on Ebay for £3100, it's being picked up tomorrow :(.
I'll get myself settled into my new job in Czech, then when time permits I'll have another look.
Sayonara!
