6 Freelanders, 1 Defender and 1 Range Rover (plus the LRE's V6ES Freelander) had a fun day in lovely weather up at Dunkeld on Sunday. Cars travelled from all over the UK - as far afield as Bristol and Billericay to join in. Freelanders ranged from on of the really early cars with no HDC/ABS or TC through to a TD4 that had been delivered last Friday evening and the 550 miles it had clocked up ahd been on the way from Essex to Dunkeld!
It had rained overnight so the steeply sloping grassy bits were wet/ slippery enough to make it fun demonstrating how HDC works and also showed folks what can happen if you try to brake on a wet grassy slope. After a morning playing on their special course and in the woods round Dunkeld House Hotel we spent the afternoon exploring some of the LRE's new offroad trails through the forests and over the moors of the Atholl Estate. While these trails are pretty tame for most Die Hard LR fans nearly all of the guys and girls taking part were going offroading for the first time - they got their money's worth.
I've posted some pics at

for those who missed out on a great day. I'm sure that the Freelander Owners Club will be renting the LRE Dunkeld again next year.

Must plan ahead and make it to Scotland for this one next year ... looked like great fun, and educational too !
