Good evening fellow LR Owners!

According to my LR dealer/repair center, I have been told that LR does NOT recommend the rotation of tires on their vehicles. I have a Disco II but queried this recommendation with the LR service manager. He cannot give me a technical reason <sigh>

I have gone to the LR official site to locate a "contact" email address so that I can query the top of the technical/corporate hierarchy, but to no avail (nothing listed).

Soooooooooooo, for any of the technical savy of LR, ,can you please give me the reason why LandRover does NOT recommend the rotation of tires? And too, how many Disco owners do rotate their tires?

I made this query in the first place because a local tire dealer/auto service guy looked at my tires and told me that I need them rotated (I did not see him because of my vehicle but had to pick something up for a relative). He said the inner part of the tire he was looking at (front) was bumpy.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum Landylass :yay:

Someone will come along and pick up this thread for you.

You haven't included your location in your profile but I'm guessing from the timing of this post and the spelling of tire that you're over the pond.

The tyre wear would suggest a misalignment or wear in a suspension or steering component. Fixed by realigniment or replacement.

There is a strong argument for not rotating radial tyres as the tyre remembers the loads inflicted on it, if you must then move them front to rear but on the same side. IMHO that wont stop the wear on the inside of the front tyre.

I get between 40 & 60k miles out of a set of OE Goodyears on our Disco 1 and that includes off road work.

If you want the theory and I guess more knowledge than your average tyrefitter check out this site

and click the tyre bible from the menu

hang around like I said someone more knowledgable than I will come along
