PS: to those 2 of you who heavily hinted that they deserved a prize for what they did, get stuffed. If you come as a trophy hunter and winge that other people got the prizes, then you're not in the forum/landrover team spirit as far as I can see. I organised this and got nothing for it other than knowing people enjoyed themselves, helped each other out without reserve and said thankyou at the end, thats reward enough.....the prizes are not the goal in this event. Sorry to post this, but those 2 people got my goat.

Rich P, change the coil before you come, lowloader home (james sunhill spares taxi driver: thanks)
The coil was fine. I did a compression test just after getting back home, and I've got no compression on cylinders two and three. Clearly a head gasket failure. :(
I must thank JamesSunhill for being taxi so that I could at least try something a bit easier to sort out (coil).
Otherwise it was a good weekend. It was unfortunate that some events occurred, and that one particular accident occurred. I hope you feel better about it soon Conkers.

Thanks Rob etal ..... it was great. We all enjoyed ourselves. Looking forward to the next one.
Daisy got home without the slightest sign of overheating (I suppose it does help if you wire your new leccy fan in the right way round) and Sally only used a litre of EP90
I was going to write a paragraph or two about a can opener question but I decided against it. A teenagers ego is very frail ;)

Is Conkers OK?
Probably not, but he will explain later when he can gather his thoughts. :(
Until then, can I add my thanks and admiration to Rob 110 Hicap for organising a tremendous event? Not forgetting Ben Breeze and Paul who were also part of the organising team. If any detractor had been present at the drivers briefing on Saturday morning, then they could have been in no doubt that everything was being and had been done to avoid annoying anyone or damaging anything. Rob made it quite clear we were there to enjoy ourselves without spoiling the enjoyment of others and I think we all did that. Well done and thank you again to the organisers.
The barbeque afterwards was at least as good as its always been and the Brothers Grim also deserve many thanks. And not just for the barbie, but for their ungflagging good humour and generousity - thanks guys.
My personal thanks to all the forum members who made Andy and I welcome and feel 'part of the family' and to Andy himself for all the hard work he did on the navigation. By the way, he's definitely going to flog the Mundano and get a Series II Disco TD5. :D
Apart from the very real sadness I and I'm sure all the Treasure Hunters feel, the weekend was a tremendous success and a credit to the forum. I've met a whole new raft of faces I can put to profiles and I hope I can count them all as friends.
Roger.

some pics from "our " day out...not many, too busy enjoying it...
and Daisy appears in TWO of your photos :)
Well after being well peeved off after a 7.5 hour drive up on Friday due to Cornish road works, I was soon cheered up by the usual ribbing and general banter. The whole event was well worth the trip.
Well done Done to Rob and his team for yet another well organised event and Ada and his crew for another suberb BBQ. Well done fellas and well done everyone for the monies raised.
Great meeting a load of new faces in addition to the old ones.
We had a great team for the Treasure Hunt (Guy (Geobloke), Rick (The Rickster), Joy, Andy (Andynxn), Claire and Sharon) so thanks to you guys for making the Treasure Hunt itself a fantastic day out.

Email from JJ, a pat on the back for you all:
Hi Rob
I am just writing to say thank you for all the hard work you put into organising this weekend. As an ex-member of the forum I wondered what kind of reception I would get when I arrived, and it made me realise that whatever happens on forums etc, you know where your friends are. It was nice seeing everyone again and the weather helped make it a great weekend.
We may not have made a huge effort on the clues but I succeeded at my aim – Angie had been asking me about coming offroading and she thoroughly enjoyed it…you may well see her again! Lol!
I was pleased with the performance of my yellow rangie – the longest run it had had until we set off for Rhayader was about a 6 mile round trip – and we made it home without issue. As I told Angie, all LR toolboxes come with a big hammer, gaffa tape, WD40, cable ties and a supersize pack of blind faith….

should have used the hi-lift & chain to winch the back end round rather than trying to lift it. Though I know that's really easy to say sitting in my nice warm, dry living room.

No need for the grid ref now. It was not driveable for years as PCC put a gate on the other side of the river (new gate there now) and it was to narrow to get a 4x4 thro. It took a lot of work by the CRAG Rtl for Powys to get it open.
But its a nice crossing I am surprised you got stuck there:rolleyes: . I have taked quite a few on that lane and have only have to pull one out. But the drop/ditch on the one side has been like that for years. We use to drive thro the river then turn around before the gate.
Theres another ford uo that was thats not marked on the map;) .
