Not Sure wether i should buy it or not, I have always wanted a 4x4 but worried that it will cost to much to run, ie petrol repairs etc any advice would be grately appreciated

Get a diesel, check it has got propshafts going to both the front and back wheels (honest).

A cheap fix when the IRD or viscous coupling goes is to remove the offending bits and drive it in 2 wheel drive
