urgent help please

been offered a t plate diesel, (which would solve the prob of my petrol to diesel convert)

problem is he says "there is a slight knocking sound coming from the back end when tight cornering sometimes"

any ideas what this could be at the worst case

Exhaust? When the engine is warm, leave it running and try moving the exhaust about (from the tail pipe end!) If it rattles then that is your problem.
The exhaust on mine rattles a bit when I am reversing. Other points to check are diff mountings

Or more likely one of the rear diff mountings, probably the front one.

Not too expensive and can be changed at home. One of the LR mags hada "how to do it" the other month.

L series diesels are said to be unburstable!

If it is the diff bush its only £12 for a genuine one. Its a very common problem
